Hazard, Risk & Safety
Danger, risques et sécurité
Gevaar, risico’s en veiligheid
Peligro, riesgo y seguridad
Опасность, риск и безопасность
Gefahr, Risiko und Sicherheit

We all hear these terms on a daily basis. So and so a chemical, physical or a biological agent poses a risk; This or that product is a hazard or behaving a certain way is unsafe.

A lot of the time “hazard” and “risk” are freely used to mean the same thing. However they are not.

Hazard is the potential to cause harm. Risk on the other hand is the likelihood of harm in defined circumstances.

In a nutshell, hazard and risk are not always aligned as the risk depends on the exposure to the hazard ; similarly, risk, safety and perception of risk are not always aligned; this can make political decisions regarding safety levels difficult to make, in these cases it is especially important to base them on facts rather than on subjective perceptions.

Best Insurance Company for Plan G Medicare Supplement

Today I’m answering the question “What is the best insurance company for Plan G?”.This question, like many other Medicare or Medicare Supplement related questions doesn’t necessarily have a simple set answer. Really, the answer is – it depends.
If you’ve been shopping around, you probably know by now that Medigap Plans are standardized. This means that the benefits are regulated, so each and every Plan G, no matter what insurance company you get it from, will have the same exact benefits. And since any Plan G allows you to see any provider who accepts Medicare – there are no networks – you won’t have access to more or less providers depending upon which company you go with. The doctors and hospitals are the same. The benefits are literally identical. And just because one insurance company spends a ton of money on advertising and direct mailings to you doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the best. Each and every company legally must pay on your medical claims the same, that is regulated by Medicare. So when answering the question “what is the best insurance company for Plan G” there are really two main things to look at:
1. Price. Different companies are going to charge you different prices for the same Plan G. Pricing can vary based on your area, so you want make sure you look at various insurance company’s prices so you can compare.
2. The second thing you want to take into consideration is the insurance company’s financial stability and rate increase history. Generally, you want a company that has at least a B or B + financial rating, and a company that has been around for a while. Additionally, it’s good to see a company that offers many different lines of coverage (like life insurance, dental/vision insurance, ect)- this is another signifier of their financial strength. A company with strong financial will be better able to keep rate increases mild over time.

Overall, there are several excellent insurance companies for Medicare Supplement Plan G when it comes to price, and rate stability. The best company for you will depend on your area, age and preference. If you have any questions, or would like a free no obligation quote for Plan G rates in your area, please feel free to give me a call! I’m happy to help. (888) 465-9728
